 About Dr. Dixon

Denise Dixon, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in behavioral (mental) health services for children, adolescents and adults, whom reside in New York State.

With over fifteen years experience as a licensed clinical psychologist, and as a graduate of Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology and Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University, she is currently serving as a private practitioner; inpatient psychologist (at a community hospital in Port Jefferson, NY); and a research consultant.

Among her areas of expertise are trauma; behavioral pain management; coping with chronic illness or life-altering injury; sleep problems; parenting; stress management; depression (including post-partum depression); anxiety; and substance use disorders.

In addition to being a prominent behavioral health specialist, Dr. Dixon has presented at National and International conferences, on the topics of post-traumatic stress disorder; maternal depression; child obesity; neuroimmunology; and stress and coping. She also provides expert research consulting services as an independent contractor.
